It is hard to believe that Kayla is graduating in a few weeks! With a bright future ahead it was amazing to see her celebrate such a great milestone. In the mix of it all the preparation for her prom, I had about 15 minutes to capture these images. Like almost all other situations in life I had to think quick. In the time I had to capture these photos I had to assess the situation, compose my set, create my frame, and press the trigger. Much like life, you have to quickly assess, look at options, create potential outcomes, but always in the end pull the trigger.
I just realized how many years have passed since my prom and I am left with mixed feelings. A sense of accomplishment mixed with a sense of curiosity as to what the future may bring. I look at my cousin and I see the potential for amazing adventures in her future. Entering her first year of university next year, I cannot wait to hear about all her ups and downs on her path to higher education. Much like how I look at all my younger cousins, I cannot help but to feel a bit protective, yet I want them them to experience the world.
