FAQs

WHAT is A registered ACUPUNCTURIST?

A registered acupuncturist is a health care professional that is a member of a regulating body. In Ontario, this governing body is the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario (CTCMPAO). All members are required to complete a 2200 hour training program and pass all licensing examinations to practice safely and legally in Ontario.

What does acupuncture feel like?

Acupuncture needling technique will vary from acupuncturist to acupuncturist. In my sessions, I focus on gentle needling. This needling technique may generate a small prick pain, similar to a pinch of your skin that subsides very quickly. My sessions aim to restore balance to your body, which means you will comfortably relax on my acupuncture bed.

Is it covered under insurance?

Yes! Many group, private, and individual plans will cover acupuncture treatments provided by a Registered Acupuncturist. For every appointment, an invoice will be provided for insurance purposes.

How many session will I need?

Every person is different and every condition will need a unique treatment plan. The goal of my treatments is to help you achieve the most optimal state for healing. For most concerns, I typically recommend 5 sessions to start with the eventual goal to getting to a maintenance phase. This could look like one to two treatments a month.
